I happily admit I was WRONG about the latest rumors of Jonathan Hickman coming to the X-Line. The BIG news coming out of C2E2: House of X & Powers of X!

Hmm, lot's of all-timeline versions and a reference to the pre-dawn-of-man period, where Eva Bell went and altered the timeline.
I smell ConspiraXcy!!!
Yes Hickman, save the X-Men(especially Iceman)!!!

The rumors were true–acclaimed writer Jonathan Hickman (Fantastic Four, Avengers, Secret Wars) is coming the X-side of the Marvel Universe and, I’m going to assume, nothing will ever be the same for Marvel’s merry mutants! At Marvel’s “Next Big Thing” panel at C2E2 2019, the publisher announced that Hickman would launch not one but two new six-part X-Books–House of X and Powers of X this July/
The two series will alternate on a weekly basis, with Extermination artist Pepe Larraz handling House of X and Uncanny X-Men artist R.B. Silva on Powers of X, with Marte Garcia providing colors for both.
“We are excited to have Jon back with the Marvel family, and we could not have asked for a better creative team to help usher the X-Men into a whole new era,” said Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski. “While we can’t reveal too much about the story just yet, these new stories will redefine the X-Men and their place in the Marvel Universe. This is a historic moment both new and passionate fans won’t want to miss.”
Marvel stated that the two series will build from every major X-event since the team’s debut in 1963, which explains all the history on display in artist Mark Brooks’ promotional image.

Edit: I'm adding the stuff from the 'Hickman Speculation' thread here, now that we know what it applies to.
