Entertainment Value Offsets

A few years back the purchasing of carbon offsets by so-called "limousine liberals" became a hot-button topic. Basically a very rich liberal could fly solo around the world in a massive jet, drive around in massive gas-guzzlers, and live in a mansion that consumed enough power for a small town...and use their own wealth to make their carbon footprint 'neutral' by funding things like wind turbines in locations far away from where they live(They usually put them in poor rural areas. "Limousine liberals" generally fight like hell to keep wind turbines far away from where they live, however. It apparently spoils their majestic views and generates too much noise pollution, I guess they think poor people are not bothered by such things or they just don't care if they are.)

It generated and continues to generate comparisons to the Catholic Church issuing 'Indulgences', a medieval practice that offered forgiveness for the sins of the rich in exchange for large contributions given to the church.

It sounds awful. Basically be as bad as you want to be and bribe your way out of it.

And yet...how often, after an actor does something we consider awful, how often after a writer says something terrible...do we forgive them their 'sins' the next time a movie comes out that we want to see, or a book that everyone is talking about hits the shelves...and we let their entertainment value 'purchase' our 'forgiveness'.

It is human nature.

So far-left-comic book-creating crazies...instead of labeling anyone who dares criticize you as a 'Comicsgater' and a 'Nazi', something that is driving people away from you and to Comicsgate...and trying to defeat Comicsgate by engaging in behavior like tweeting conservative comic creators photos of your buttholes, something that is driving people away from you and to Comicsgate...and spewing out hate, bigotry and intolerance while ludicrously claiming to be against it, something that is driving people away from you and to Comicsgate...or calling Comicsgate 'an anti-diversity hate-movement' when it has now actually managed to become far more diverse than most of the people attacking it, again something that is driving people away from you and to Comicsgate...maybe try putting out some good books that most people would want to read.

Start putting out those 'Entertainment Value Offsets'. People will forget how toxic you are and go back to buying comics like crazy. It is human nature.

Or you could start Tweeting videos showing you flinging your own human waste at pictures of Donald Trump. Sadly, I know which is more likely to happen.
