"They went after us for making jokes a lot less worse than this, we warned them it would backfire on them too, but they don't listen do they?"
I hate to say it but I kind of agree with that.
You see people like JDW falling all over themselves on Twitter to defend James Gunn because he is one of their own. If Gunn were a conservative, or a Republican, or a Trump supporter...they would be doing the exact opposite. Demonizing him. Vilifying him. Saying his posts were proof of how purely evil he is, and calling for him to be somehow excommunicated from society if not outright killed for it. I'm not even exaggerating.
I'm also generally not much for quoting scripture, but:
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Matthew 7:1-5
The far-left have a habit of making mountains out of mole hills when it comes to people they are in opposition to, while treating their own mountains as mole hills in return.
People are just reaping what they have sown. Lot of rock-throwing people living in some very glass houses...
Rick and Morty, Community Creator Dan Harmon Leaves Twitter After Offensive Sketch Surfaces
The sketch has been dug up in the wake of James Gun's firing from the Guardians of the Galaxy series after controversial tweets.
The sketch, titled 'Daryl,' was a spoof on Showtime's Dexter, and aired on Channel 101, the short-film festival that Harmon co-founded in 2009. Daryl featured Harmon as a "baby rapist with a heart of gold" (as opposed to Dexter's serial killer with a heart of gold). In one sequence, Harmon simulates sex with a baby doll.
Nobody had paid much attention to Daryl until recently, after 4chan dug up the video. As Polygon notes, it subsequently spread to the popular pro-Trump subreddit The_Donald, and the Twitter account of far-right commentator Mike Cernovich, who was instrumental in Disney's recent firing of James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 due to offensive tweets he made in his past.
"They went after us for making jokes a lot less worse than this, we warned them it would backfire on them too, but they don't listen do they?" reads a popular post on The_Donald. Both Gunn and Harmon are vocal critics of Donald Trump.
Harmon has since deleted his Twitter account without comment.
