-LAST DAYS titles are creators bringing their stories to their natural conclusions before the destruction of the Marvel Universe. What would you do if you knew it was your last day on Earth? What would your favorite Marvel characters do? Bringing it back to the television analogy, these would be the newscasts!

-BATTLEWORLD titles are almost like our regular monthly titles. The core continuity. These books are what’s happening in the Secret Wars Universe and the continuity of Battleworld. How do these territories all co-exist? How do they work? These books will tell you all you need to know about what’s happening during the event. In the TV season analogy, these would be the primetime shows.

-WARZONES! are the building blocks of the Marvel Universe, event level stories all on their own. While these are mostly self-contained, they’re also grand pieces of continuity from Marvel’s past and new spins on existing favorites. All of which are laying foundations for a new Marvel Universe. Each of these stories can be read on their own, but you can bet that each of these titles is going to have a big effect on the future of the Marvel Universe post-Secret Wars. Finally in the TV season analogy the Warzones! titles would be the Oscars, Grammys, Super Bowl, and the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special rolled into one!

Another short and easy way to remember that: LAST DAYS are the Past, BATTLEWORLD is the present, and WARZONES! are the future.

I gotta say.. Marvel's done a pretty good job of getting me excited for this event. At least in terms of the x-titles. Every x-book being released for this is like a giant fan service and has done a good job of quieting the "Marvel hates the X-Men" rigmarole. I'm not 100% on reading the main series though... it seems like it has a LOT to do with Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers stuff and from what I hear, that is not very reader friendly.

I like Hickman's Avengers stuff and find it accessible, but then I also love to read massive fantasy series with epic-scale world-building...

There is a LOT of fan service in this, I surprised myself by ordering the Inferno series. I tell myself it was for Magik, but I think seeing Maddy Pryor in the black Goblin Queen getup probably did it. Fan service indeed.

Of note is the similarity between Marvel's "Secret Wars" and the similarly themed "Convergence" happening at DC which showcases various previous periods of DC comics like Crisis, Zero Hour and Flashpoint interacting with the current universe. I'm actually tempted to pick some of those titles up, especially when they feature characters that don't exist or at least not in a recognizable form in the Nu52, but I am not going back to DC. I'm tired of them reinventing their universe every time I turn around and trashing a bunch of characters I love, and just when the writers get everything fixed, they do it again...

I think there is some interesting things in Secret Wars. Even if I'm not buying all books, I looked through Marvel's previews #32 (March and May stuff).

I do think there will be stuff for all fans in general.

And thanks for the sticky thread as we get closer to it, I imagine there will loads more info.

Valeria Richards - is doing a briefing with other kids. Had no idea there were so many young genius' in the MU.

They're building a ship (a life raft) so that the human race can be restarted. Not sure who gets to ride the thing, only that is a limited number of seats.

The Cabal is a group of baddies lead by Thanos. And those who were friends are now foes.

A handpicked group of engineers, builders and scientists are picked for the raft. We don't know who they are yet.

Two different Earths from different universes are going to collide. And it appears MU from both Earths are trying to do something about it or going to fight.

I guess to get to the raft or stop the collision its not really stated. It ends with everyone getting into position to fight.

That's the start.

Thanks for that. I also wanted to mention somewhere that Secret Wars #0 also contains an eight-page story called "Attack on Avengers" a story that originally appeared in BRUTUS magazine in Japan, and tells the story of the Titans from the Manga/Anime "Attack on Titan" arriving in Manhattan and throwing down with the Avengers.

I haven't read the manga, but I am a fan of the anime derived from it that is airing on Cartoon Network, so the story was a nice surprise for me!

Picked up Battleworld 1 and Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars this week. Battleworld was pretty good. Especially the first half of the book. The MODOK story, I can take or leave. Secret Secret Wars is different because it takes place during the original 80's event.. so it really has nothing to do with the current goings on. It was, however, very fun and a good read.

Does Iceman have any impact on Ultimate End? I'm trying to find the book that features a version of him the most. Much like I anticipate X-Men '92 being the go-to book for Gambit.

Iceman hasn't been mentioned in any of the solicitations for Secret Wars to my knowledge, so it's impossible to guess at any impact. The only reason I know he is in Ultimate End and Age of Apocalypse is because I have seen him in the art. He's also possible for X-Men '92, beyond that, I know nothing.
