Had a chance to read a copy for free again, still not supporting this book.
So, this issue was mostly pointless crap. Grace seems to be writing now for the smallest audience possible, which considering how the sales tanked in the ongoing...he knows who is still buying this book so this is clearly all for them. Iceman didn't even need to be involved in Emma's story. It was just a very thinly veiled opportunity to basically take the theory from CBR that Emma knew Bobby was gay and didn't say anything because of her gay brother, and make it cannon. Sad when you are writing a comic mostly for one message board.
Uggh...that writing.
Grace can do better than that, we've seen it, I don't think he is even trying anymore.
It's all still not believable. It's a microscopic fig leaf to cover some well-endowed bullshit. Even if Emma hadn't outed him she would have confronted him over it, not kept focusing on his powers and Bobby not pushing himself enough. To say nothing of all the other telepaths that have been in his head including the real Jean Grey and Professor Xavier, not to mention several bad guys who would have used that info to mess with him.
Based off this issue, I am however making a MAJOR revision to my theory that people are being replaced and time is being rewritten. I was thinking that Cyclops, Emma and Iceman were replaced by adult versions of Young Cyclops, Young Iceman and one of the Cuckoos from some future point(BotA, OML's Wastelands)...I now think it's just a direct swap.
The main 616 and OML's timelines are mostly identical except for small details until around the present. OML said there was no female Thor or Cho Hulk in his timeline. Which means swaps could have been made prior to that point and the people involved might not even notice. We know current-Adult Iceman was still in OML's timeline until that baseball game in the Past Lives arc, which should have been around the time Emma hijacked his body and mind.
So in that timeline, that Emma WOULD have known her universe's Iceman was gay. It's also possible THAT Emma didn't have a flaw in her crystal heart that prevented her from retaining a fragment of the Phoenix the way the Cuckoos were able to. 616 Emma was shown to have that flaw, yet current Emma in the Jean Grey solo didn't have it...she was like the Cuckoos...which added to my theory that she was one of them...but that doesn't mean the OTHER Emma from OML's timeline had that flaw, either.
So many moving pieces to put together...
