Trump's approval rating isn't likely to go up. And I honestly could not care less if Trump supporters get offended by anything, because every single Trump supporter - every single one - is a garbage person.
Yes, Kamala Khan is a well-made character. So are pretty much all the other diverse characters. Amadeus is a good character. America is a good character. Riri didn't quite capture me, but she has definite potential to be a great character. Who are the bad diverse characters that you seem so convinced are filling Marvel's books?
I really liked Angela's solo series. And I think it does deserve credit for having Marvel's second openly trans character, and the first in a romantic relationship. (I'm still pissed that Marvel has yet to follow up on Sera's disappearance from the end of Bendis' GotG run. A year later, and still jack shit, so exactly what the hell was Bendis supposedly "setting up" with that?) Of course, Fresh Start is embarrassingly straight. As a cishet guy, I am personally insulted at how straight Fresh Start is, and I think Marvel should feel legitimately embarrassed about it. Marvel's pulled back hard on diversity in general. Which is a piss-off. I couldn't give fewer shits about the Fantastic Four being back. I would much rather see Christina Strain write a new volume of Young Avengers that introduces a new trans hero. To hell with the same old white guys all the damn time. I want new shit. But apparently it's crucial that all the stale old white dudes get to be the centre of every single shred of attention again.
This is sort of an unfair blanket statement. I voted for Trump. I don't agree with every word that comes out of his mouth but at least he's not a shady bitch like Hilary Clinton is. We didn't elect him to lead our Sunday services either.
Your annoyance with the traditional characters really makes it hard to take your other points to heart as much as I want to. This isn't the real world, it's comic books. Comic books that were made famous by the likes of Steve Rodgers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor, etc.. Honestly? Too bad if you don't like that they're still around. They're not the only ones around anymore. So for one time and one time only, stop bitching about it. Seriously. Give it up. They're always going to be around.
Can diversity be better? Yes. Absolutely. Have some of Marvel's recent books been centered around more diverse characters? Probably, yeah. But the constant bitching and complaining that some of the most famous characters in the world still have comic books is absurd and I think you're smart enough to know that. Blasting the traditional characters to try to get what you want isn't the way to go about it. Spitting hate on ANYTHING to get what you want ANYWHERE in life isn't the way to go about it.
It goes both ways. And I think a lot of people fail to realize that.
